June/Juin 2018 I am proud to have stood in the House of Commons to join the Government to support a motion condemning the current regime in Iran for its (a)human rights abuses, (b)sponsorship of terrorism around the world, including instigating of violent attacks on the Gaza border, (c) statements made by its Supreme Leader calling for the eradication of Israel and (d) designating the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization, (e) not restoring diplomatic relations and (f) demanding that Iran release all Canadians and Canadian permanent residents detained in Iran among other elements. Please listen to the speech as I feel very passionately about this issue and this was from the heart. Je suis fier d’avoir pris la parole à la Chambre des communes et de m’être joint au gouvernement pour appuyer une motion condamnant le régime actuel en Iran, notamment : a) pour ses violations des droits de la personne, b) pour son soutien envers le terrorisme dans le monde entier, y compris les violentes attaques à la frontière de Gaza, c) pour les récentes déclarations du chef suprême appelant à l’anéantissement d’Israël, and d) pour déclarer le Corps des gardiens iraniens de la révolution islamique comme étant une organisation terroriste, e) pour le non-rétablissement des relations diplomatiques et f) pour demander la libération tous les Canadiens et résidents permanents du Canada détenus en Iran. Je vous prie d’écouter mon discours, car il s’agit d’une question qui me tient véritablement à cœur.
